R.A.F. chums around a Miles Martinet plane at Milfield Aerodrome

Flight engineer Alan Edwards arrived at RAF Milfield after completing 42 missions on Lancaster bombers. After such a test of courage and resolve, Milfield was a welcome posting. At Milfield, Alan flew in Martinet aircraft which towed targets to give trainee pilots attack practice. Not a job I'd fancy. (Alan is the one sitting on top of the engine)
