Traditional Sweet White Sauce

Ingredients
300 ml of milk
28g butter or margarine
20g cornflour
1 teaspoon of sugar

Method
(1) Melt the butter or margarine into a saucepan. Remove from heat and blend in the cornflour.

(2) Stir in the milk gradually, and add the sugar.

(3) Bring to the boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

(4) Add seasonal spirits to taste (Rum, Whisky etc.) if required, depending on the occassion.

Can be made in advance, and reheated when required. Ideal for Christmas Pud or poured over Mince pies.
