225g (8oz) self-raising flour
100g (4oz) margarine
2 handfuls of raisins
1½ handfuls of sugar
A little milk
(1) Rub margarine into the flour. Add fruit and sugar to taste.
(2) Add the eggs, and mix until a soft dough, adding a little milk if needed.
(3) Turn on to a well floured board (no need to roll out), just press with your hands.
(4) Use a tart cutter to cut out.
(5) Brush tops with a little milk.
(6) Bake at 210°C (Gas Mark 7) for about 15 minutes.
Makes about 12 delicious scones.
